The Apple A8 is a mobile processor that was launched in September 2014 and announced by the device maker of several smartphone brands. This chip features Two 1.4GHz Cyclone 2 cores. The SoC is designed in-house by Apple and manufactured by TSMC using a 20 nm process technology. The A8 integrates the Apple 4 Cores GPU running at 450 MHz and supports 1GB of memory. It can be configured with the company’s Apple modem, offering peak download speeds of up to 50 Mbps.
